During a recent earnings call, a chief executive from Lionsgate confirmed that a sequel is officially in the works. But what really caught fans’ attention was just how far along the project may already be.
According to the executive, a significant portion of the sequel has potentially already been filmed-reportedly around 30 percent. The follow-up film is expected to dive deeper into Jackson’s life story while also exploring more of his iconic music catalog that wasn’t covered in the first movie.
Another interesting detail? The sequel may not follow a traditional linear timeline. Instead, the film could reportedly “hop around” different eras of Jackson’s career and personal life, giving filmmakers more freedom to explore key moments from multiple perspectives.
