Atlanta’s On-Street Parking Costs Increasing
Some not-so-good news for drivers in Atlanta: the Atlanta City Council has approved an increase in on-street parking rates.
The hourly rate for metered parking will rise to $3.50, up from $2, while the 30-minute rate will increase from $1 to $1.75. City officials say the higher fees are intended to help cover rising maintenance and operational costs.
The change may come as a frustration for commuters and visitors, but officials argue it is necessary to maintain parking infrastructure and ensure availability in high-demand areas.
