Oliver “Power” Grant, a founding member and guiding force of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, has died at 52. His passing was shared by the group on social media, where they wrote, “Rest in Power, Power.” The cause of death has not been shared publicly.

Power was more than a behind-the-scenes figure. He helped shape the Wu-Tang legacy from the start, using his business instincts to support studio time and marketing. He wasn’t a rapper in the group, but he executive-produced many of their releases and helped launch Wu Wear, a clothing line that became a cultural symbol of ’90s hip-hop influence.

Friends and fellow Clan members paid tribute. Method Man called him “Brother,” and GZA said Wu-Tang wouldn’t have existed without him. Their words show just how deep his impact was on music, culture, and the people around him.

Grant also stepped into acting with roles in films like Belly and Black and White, blending his creativity with community influence. As Wu-Tang is now nominated for the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, his legacy lives on in every beat, every design, and every fan touched by the movement he helped build.
