It looks like Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch is back in the spotlight! Us Weekly got the exclusive scoop that the upcoming MJ biopic, Michael, shot scenes at the iconic estate back in April 2024. The crew was there for weeks, filming everything from interior and exterior dialogue to a little petting zoo (yes, the animals too), and even a stunt where someone climbs a tree—honoring MJ’s famous tree-climbing skills. They had helicopters, trucks, motorhomes—you name it—rolling through the ranch from early morning to midnight, making sure every detail was captured. The film, featuring Jaafar Jackson as Michael, Nia Long as his mom Katherine, and Colman Domingo as his dad Joe, is now scheduled to drop on April 24, 2026.

Neverland’s story alone is wild. Michael bought the ranch in 1988, turning it into a private amusement park and zoo, but left in 2005 after his legal battles. The property went through foreclosure scares, ownership changes, and even a $100 million listing before billionaire Ron Burkle scooped it up for $22 million in 2020. On top of all that, Michael’s daughter, Paris, is still dealing with a messy court battle over her father’s estate. Safe to say, Neverland has seen it all—and now, with this movie, it’s about to make history all over again.
