Recall For Over 250,000 Kia Vehicles & 85,000 Hyundai Cars
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is recalling over 250,000 Kia cars and 85,000 Hyundai vehicles because of a fuel tank problem that could cause it to melt. The recall affects Kia K5 models from 2021–2024 and Hyundai Sonatas from 2020–2023. The issue involves a part called the purge control system check valve, which can wear out over time and let pressurized air into the fuel tank, potentially making it expand and touch hot exhaust parts. Owners will get a notice in the mail and can take their cars to dealerships for repairs, with Kia also offering reimbursement for any repair costs.
