Strawberry Letter 23: I Can’t Have A Baby…So He Wants to Leave Me
Hello Steve and Shirley. I’ve been dating my boyfriend now for about a year. We’ve had our problems in the past, but we managed to work them out. My boyfriend has put a lot of emphasis on having a baby. He says that the baby is the key to our future. I want to be engaged and buy a nice house together but he wants us to start with a kid first. I don’t mind, because I want a baby too.
The problem is I’ve had two miscarriages in the past 2-3 months and I’m starting to think something is wrong with me. I already have two children from a previous relationship. I cry almost every night because I’m reminded of my inability at work. I am a teacher and there are dozens of women who are pregnant right now. To make matters worse, my boyfriend has been acting distant from me for three days. Then he tells me, “I think I want to break up, I’m just trying to find the right way to do it.” After I cursed him out I began crying because the insensitive asshole said it 3 days after my last miscarriage. I feel like I should leave him but, I’m in love with him.
