The winter weather advisory is in effect now until Saturday for the metro area.  G-DOT crews started treating major roadways last night with a salt-brine mix to help prevent ice formation.  Governor Nathan Deal is confident that the state is ready for this weekend.  According to the latest weather modules the metro Atlanta area will not see much snow, just a sleet/snow mixture.  The biggest threat for the entire area is icing, which could be serious Saturday morning when temperatures get below freezing.

Congressman John Lewis says he will not attend the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights museum tomorrow after finding out that President Donald Trump will be in attendance.  Congressman Lewis says that Trump’s attendance is an insult to the people honored in that museum.
