Congressman John Lewis Steps Up His Fight For Gun Control

In the aftermath of the tragedy on Sunday in Las Vegas, Congressman John Lewis is stepping up his fight for gun control. Congressman Lewis will join four other house Democrats today on Capitol Hill to push for a bipartisan bill that was introduced two years ago. This bill expands background checks to include sales at gun shows through classifieds and online.

Early voting for the Atlanta Mayor begins in a few days and a new 11 Alive poll shows this race is being led by women. Mary Norwood is holding the lead with 28%, City councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms has surged now holding 15%, which means she could make the runoff. Ceasar Mitchell is next with 10% followed by Peter Aman, Vincent Fort, Kwanza Hall, and Cathy Woolard. Next Wednesday Radio One is partnering with 11Alive for a Mayoral Forum at the Georgia Tech Ferst Center.
