The last thing you probably want to think about while on vacation is food restrictions. On the other hand, if you’ve been successful at losing weight, I’m sure you don’t want to ruin your progress. Well, you can still enjoy your vacation and all the good food that comes along with it IF you have the right strategy.

Here are a few tips on how to avoid vacation weight gain:

  1. Bring your workout with you. Yeah, I’m sure working out is not on the agenda of vacation festivities but a quick 20 minute burn with a jump rump or resistance bands can help burn off the extra calories from the excess food you’ll be eating.
  2. Take the stairs. Instead of wasting time waiting for the elevator, move around faster and burn a few extra calories taking the stairs.
  3. Choose your treats wisely. We all know that eating more than we burn will result in weight gain. This is why you have to be careful to not overeat. Instead of having cake AND a martini for dinner, choose one. Spread your treats throughout your vacation days to give your body time to burn off the extra calories.
