Subject: I live with two lazy men
Dear Steve and Shirley, I’m a widowed mother of two adult sons, 19 and 21 years old. I recently lost my job because the company went bankrupt. My 2 sons, who live with me, are presently not working and apparently think I’m still supposed to take care of the them and provide a roof over their heads. I don’t ask them for much, just to help with the bills and mortgage. They seem to lack the motivation to get a job. I’ve threatened to evict them, but that’s not working. I’ve had people tell me I should evict them. These are my children. I don’t want them on the street and I know that makes me part of the problem. My question is, how do I motivate these men to become independent and take care of themselves? I’m at my wits end. What should I do?
