Subject: Moving Out

Hey Steve, I’m a 21-year-old young man who is in desperate need of advice! My father passed when I was twelve, so I have very little men to choose from when it comes to advice! I am currently in a relationship that has lasted 2+ years, I’ve even asked her to marry me, and she said yes! But I was thinking that I would be the one setting the pace of the relationship, but she wants to move forward! I’m not ready to move out my mother’s house yet! I always had this vision of me being comfortable in my career/ job situation when I decide to step out! I’m scared Steve! She even tries to give me target dates of when I need to be ready to fly the coop! I even made a career change to pursue being a police officer because it wont take long to start and I can at least have some comfort when I move out even if it is still to early for my standards! I’m still waiting to start the academy therefore I’m unemployed, what do I do? Oh and btw, she says I put her second, but tried to explain to her that when you stack yourself next to my mom you are second because momma all I have left and I know that’s the one person that will have my back when all else fails! Was I wrong? Just please help me! Hurry up, I’m typing this on my iPhone while she’s in the shower! Gotta take her to work!
