This week hackers stole all the private information of members of AshleyMadison, the site specifically for people who want to have affairs, and released the names, profiles, emails, and transaction history onto the Internet. This means that there are a lot of very nervous men out there, as 90-95% of the members were men because the site reportedly created thousands of fake female profiles.

Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals discusses the intersection of sex and tech and how online privacy plays into it. Dr. Tibbals is one of the leading sociological experts on entertainment, sex, tech, pop culture, and porn. She is the author of Exposure: A Sociologist Explores Sex, Society, and Adult Entertainment, which was published last month and is available through all major book retail outlets. Exposure chronicles Dr. Chauntelle’s experience studying the adult entertainment industry.
