President Obama has gotten a bit more scrappy these past few months, and he’s letting it all out. Yesterday, during a White House reception for LGBT Pride Week, he was interrupted by a woman who started shouting about immigration policies and Obama wasn’t having it, according to USA Today.
“Hold on a sec,” said Obama. “OK. You know what. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. No, no, no, no. Hey, listen. You are in my house.”
As the rest of the audience cheered, Obama castigated the heckler. “You know know what? It’s not respectful when you get invited,” he said. “You are not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this. Shame on you, you shouldn’t be doing this.”
We’re sure the President won’t be criticized for shushing a heckler the way he was for using the N-word during a discussion on race during the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, released on Monday (June 23). While that never-ending topic continues to be up for debate, heckling is not. So do whatever you gotta do to protect your house, Mr. President.
