One young girl miraculously survived to call the cops for help after her father shot her in the head during his family massacre.
The New York Post reports that a man from Queens executed a horrific murder-suicide as he went from room to room in his house, shooting both of his daughters, his girlfriend and her mom before turning the gun on himself.
Although the gunman, identified as 34-year-old bouncer Jonathan Walker, had intended to kill everyone in his immediate family, his older daughter pulled through. Despite being shot in the head with the bullet exiting through her eye, she got up and called 911 for help. The 12-year-old girl, was even able to open the door for cops when the arrived and she spoke with authorities for 15 minutes before being taken to a hospital.
Jonathan’s body was found in in his car near JFK Airport just before noon; he’d shot himself in the head. His surviving daughter is currently fighting for her life in an area hospital.
Cops found the bodies of Viola Warren, 62, Shantai Hale, 31, and 7-year-old. Shantai was the mother of both the girls, and the family lived in a two-level house. Jonathan ran from the home around 5:30 a.m., and he called his brother after executing the women. According to authorities, it was fairly short conversation and he told his brother, “What I did, I cannot come back from.”
The Post reports that Jonathan, who played professional basketball in Portugal from 2008-2009, was heading into private security and had gotten his license not long before going on his rampage. Authorities don’t know what led to this killing spree as he and Shantai hadn’t had any history of domestic violence, but the family did have domestic issues in 2005 and 2006.
