Recall when Aaliyah’s family said they didn’t support the film or maybe when Zendaya Coleman let go of her role in the film, starring as Aaliyah? (Alexandra Shipp later took on the part.) Well the Lifetime Aaliyah biopic continues to receive strict criticism but now it is from the singers fans. During the airing of the biopic this past weekend fans began to express distaste in the film.
According to CNN the biopic, “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B”, not only gained major backlash from Aaliyahs fans on Twitter but as well as from Aaliyahs producer, Timbaland. The biopic gained the two hashtags, “#LifetimeBeLike” and “#LifetimeBiopic.”
