Russell supposedly alerted the Harris County Sheriff Department to the fact that his wife, Catherine Martinez, was dead in their apartment. Then he told authorities that he would need a lawyer. He told police that he and Catherine were arguing before she died, but he wouldn’t say anything else without a legal representative.

When cops entered the home later, they found Catherine stabbed to death and lying on the floor. Her body had been covered up by a blanket. KHOU also reports that she’d suffered blunt force trauma.
