President Obama showed off his comedic chops for the A-list crowd that filled the Washington Hilton Ballroom for the 100th annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner last night. The gala was hosted by “Community” star Joel McHale but the POTUS stole the show with jokes about Obamacare, CNN, Fox News and both Donalds — Sterling and Trump.
“It is great to be back. What a year, huh? After my stellar 2013, what could I possibly talk about,” Mr. Obama said to open the show. “I admit it. Last year was rough. Sheesh. At one point, things got so bad, the 47 percent called Mitt Romney to apologize.

“Of course, we rolled out HealthCare.gov. That could’ve gone better,” he added. “In 2008 my slogan was ‘Yes, We Can.’ In 2013, my slogan was ‘Control, Alt, Delete.’”
He went on to poke fun at Obamacare critics and the scandal surrounding the Clippers. “How well does ObamaCare have to work before people don’t want to repeal it. What if everyone’s cholesterol drops to 120? What if your yearly check up came with tickets to a Clippers game? Not the old Don Sterling Clippers, the new Oprah Clippers! Would that be good enough? What if it gave Mitch McConnell a pulse,” he joked.
Or course, he hit the top three cable news networks hard:
On CNN: “I’m a little jet-lagged from my trip to Malaysia. The lengths we have to go to for CNN coverage these days. I think they’re still searching for their table.”
On MSNBC: “They’re a little over-whelmed. They’ve never seen an audience this big before.”
On Fox News: “Let’s face it, Fox. You’ll miss me when I’m gone. It’ll be harder to convince the American people that Hillary [Clinton] was born in Kenya.”
One of the funniest moments of the night came at the expense of the Speaker of the House, John Boehner. “House Republicans actually give John Boehner a harder time than they give me, which means orange really is the new black,” the President said to a sea of laughter.
If you’re not familiar with “nerd prom,” each year Hollywood and Washington together and push politics aside for some good ol’ nonpartisan fun. Celebs in attendence this year included Lupita Nyong’o, Kevin Hart, Richard Sherman and Rev. Al Sharpton.
