Kelly Rowland is not looking for glitz, glam or sea of wedding guests on the day she says “I do.” The 32-year-old songstress may have a big rock on her finger, but she tells PEOPLE that her special day will be very small.
“I think we just really want it to be us and our pastor. That’s it,” she said, detailing her dream wedding to manager-turned-fiancé Tim Witherspoon. “I mean, we are the only two that’s going to be in the marriage.”
She went on to say that she’s not paying for a big reception and sit-down dinner for a room full of nosy people.
“You have to pay for food for everyone and I’m not down with that,” she added, laughing. “Everyone is there just to be nosy and see who I’m wearing, you know. I’m okay.”
Rowland confirmed her engagement with Witherspoon this week on the “Queen Latifah Show.”
“He put a ring on it! Yes, it’s official,” she gushed, showing off her diamond ring. “He asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes. I was like, ‘I got my best friend to ride through life with.’ He really is my best friend.”
Congrats to the beautiful couple!
