Subject: Mother Acts Like My Girlfriend

Hello Steve and Shirley,

I am writing because I need help. My mother who suffered a stroke four years ago acts as if she is my girlfriend. I am the youngest of two children. My sister has moved on with her life and is married. Plus living in another state. More recently my mother was in the hospital for about a month and when she was able to come home she needed me to help wash her legs and clean the bandages. Now moving forward again, I am now in a relationship and my mother acts as if she has to fight for my attention. I’m like I have gave my life for her, my grandmother who passed away a year ago, and my great grandmother. I wonder when is it my time to live my life? My girlfriend said she isn’t going anywhere and she loves my mother as if she was her mother, but I feel like I’m being torn in two because of that reason. I love my mother but its been time I need to live my life. I will be 35 in December, married and divorced in less than a year and started my own business but until I met my current girlfriend I wasn’t happy. Now that she is in my life I’m happy again. I just want to live my life and keep both my mother and my girlfriend happy. Can you and the morning crew help me?
