Strawberry Letter: More Babies, More Babies, More Babies

Dear Steve and Shirley,

I have been with my man for more than six years. We have two girls from his previous marriage, now nine and 11. I cannot have children though I have always wanted one more. The other day my bother call me out of the blue and said would I take in his baby that isn’t even here yet, before the state takes the baby. Well, he is the family member that has been in and of jail, on drugs, no job, we all have one of them. So I agreed to drive 13 hours to claim custody. Later that day I talked to the baby mama and she said to come get the baby and also her two-year-old daughter. Umm, what? Two more kids and the two-year old ain’t his. I don’t want either awarded to the state but I don’t have a vehicle to transport four kids me and my man. Plus, I only have a three-bedroom house (renting), my man and I both work full-time and are taking online college courses full-time. I don’t know what to do. Two to four might be too much. Help! Stressed to the Max
