Condola was one of the few black people of the world that grew up not watching “The Cosby Show” because she spent her every waking moment on set. As a real-life Rudy, she learned the ins and outs of acting and decided that she would follow in her mother’s footsteps.

Rashad’s latest role is Thelma in “A Trip To Bountiful,” where she stars alongside acting legends, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Vanessa Williams and Cicely Tyson. After Rashad’s amazing Tony nomination for “Stick Fly,” we’ve gotten to watch her take flight on stage. Her next stop? Juliet–as in Romeo & Juliet, the star-crossed lovers who die for their love. Rashad will star alongside Orlando Bloom a beautiful interracial adaptation of the iconic play. Rashad explained that seeing color will only limit your ability to work as an actress, saying, “Stop thinking of themselves as a Black actor. Be an actor. You’re already Black. That’s what it is. You don’t have to look at yourself this way. You horizons will be broadened.”
