Sherri Shepherd is the definition of the hardest working woman in town. With “The View,” “The Newlywed Game,” her own sitcom, “Sherri” and more, this comedian turned entertainment superstar’s cup runneth over! As #TeamBeautiful patiently waited on the red carpet at Kevin Hart’s “Let Me Explain” premiere, we spotted the hilarious host, sauntering down the carpet. Everyone else didn’t want to miss the man of the hour, but we couldn’t help ourselves. We shouted, “Sherr!” and with a smile stretched across her perfectly red lips, she walked over and said, “Hey girl!”

We felt like we’d been girlfriends with Sherri since before she ever she made us giggle as the sassy girlfriend to Jamie Foxx’s best friend, Mouse on “The Jamie Foxx Show.” Between giggles, we chatted about her choice of having a surrogate give birth to her next child and the challenges she’ll face with her son and the new baby. Sherri grimaced, “it’s gonna be hard my son is used to being by himself and everything is for him so we’re still figuring out how to talk to him about that.”

“You can’t challenge me on any thing. I work hard, I make my money, I work hard, so try to come and challenge me on any thing, I really don’t care about what people think about me and what I do. I’ve got one person I’ve got to place and he’s up there, and my son and my husband so anybody else? I don’t care, really,” Sherri revealed.

Sherri also got really candid about how much lust she has for her husband and why she wants no new friends, unless he’s Idris Elba. Check out our chat below.

*My last moment of lust was…Right now. Right over there. [looks in husband’s direction]

**I express my love… You know what? I like to do really random things for my husband, so I’ll wear some lingerie I’ve never worn before. I know he likes me to cook and I can’t stand cooking, so that means everything to my husband; I’ll make him a dinner and say that this isn’t gonna happen for another 7 months, so don’t get used to it.

***The thing I like least about myself…sometimes, I wear my heart on my sleeve too much and I’m too giving. Yes it can be detrimental if you’ve got a lot of family members.

HB: And no new friends, like Drake said.

Sherri: [laughs] Yeah, I don’t do new friends very easily because I have a hard enough time keeping up with my old friends and new friendships, you know, it takes, you know, to really develop a friendship you need to go through things and I’m not trying to go through new things with new people.

****I get over a breakup…with time. You have to know time will dull everything and I think don’t get back into a new relationship until you heal. You gotta go through it to get over it. So, take time out after a break-up to know who you are and be by yourself and to be ok with being by yourself.

**** If I was on a deserted island, I’d bring… Idris Elba, well, if I wasn’t married. Well, Idris Elba. Some food and some really good music. Oh, and my son Jeffrey. He’s an honorable mention.

What’s Sherri working on now?
I’m working on a movie with Chris Rock as we speak, I have an hour comedy special on the FX Network called “It’s My Time To Talk“, my book, “Plan D,” which is #13 on the New York Times bestseller list, and I pitched a movie to LifeTime that we’re working on casting right now.
See, we told you–the hardest working woman in the business!
