Actors Eriq Ebouaney and Nonso Anozie are in negotiations to join the cast and media mogul Mona Scott Young has come on board as executive producer through her Monami Entertainment banner.

“Not only am I elated to being signed to Monami Entertainment, but the opportunity to work with Mona Scott-Young and having her on board as my EP, is surreal,” LaMothe told TheUrbanDaily.com. Any true hip hop fan, such as myself, has known the name(Mona Scott-Young) for the past 15 years. I respect her long list of accomplishments in the game and look forward to this journey with her, as we embark on making quality feature films.”

The overseas portion of the shoot, will be a co-production with David Belle’s Cine’ institute, operated out of Jacmel Haiti.

Earlier this year, it was announced that actors S.Epatha Merkerson, Jamie Hector, Garcelle Beauvais, Edwidge Danticat, Jimmy-jean-Louis,  Pras of the Fugees and French actress, Stana Roumillac are attached to star in the film.  Renowned photographer, Marc Baptiste is also attached as a producer.  Shooting is scheduled to commence this summer.

“It’s an innate instinct as an artist for me to tell stories,” says LaMothe. “It’s my way of communicating. Most of my films have always had some subconscious plot or theme and that’s the best form for me to put out my stories.”
