Now in its fifth year, the Disney’s Dreamers Academy program continues its dedicated mission to providing a youth with an opportunity to learn how they can harness the power of their dreams. Through life-enriching interactive workshops and motivational talks, Disney’s Dreamers Academy gives the Dreamers inspiration to explore the countless possibilities they may never have even imagined and the tools they need to jumpstart turning their dreams into reality.

Carol Blackmon will be broadcasting live from Disney Thursday, Friday, and Monday with Steve Harvey and many more special guest.

Meet The Disney’s Dreamers Academy Class of 2012!

Eric Branch, 17 years old – Academy of Medical Research, Mableton, GA — member of the football & tennis teams. Plans to attend college to major in chemistry and pursue a career in pharmacy.

Michelle Davis, 17 years old – McEachern High School, Powder Springs, GA — Vice President of Family Community and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA), member of French club, Elite Women’s Society, winter guard. Plans to attend college and major in physical therapy to become a physical therapist.

Travis Jackson, 14 years old – North Springs Charter High School, Atlanta, GA — Member of the Beta Club, Interact Club, “Tech Theater,” and Robotics Club. Wants to attend UGA and major in Bio-Technology to become a dentist.

Jeremy Johnson, 16 years old – Lassiter High School, Marietta, GA — Plays basketball for East Marietta, plays the alto sax and volunteers at Children’s Hospital. Wants to pursue a career in Pediatric Medicine.

Isaiah Jones, 15 years old – Collins High School, Lawrenceville, GA — Attends Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and in the youth ministry. Was an AAU Basketball MVP twice.

Kaliyah Jones, 14 years old – Elite Scholar’s Academy, Morrow, GA – Member of the Mock Trial team, Track team; Poetry, Drama, and Arts/Crafts departments. Plans to attend college studying early childhood learning or the Arts.

Caleb Logan, 15 years old – Arabia Mountain High School (Atlanta’s first Green school), Lithonia, GA – Member of the Journalism Club and Recycling Clubs. Member of Power of Purpose Christian Center Church. Plans on college and majoring in history to becoming a teacher.

Ceshawn Matthew, 17 years old – Centennial High School, Atlanta, GA — Honor Roll student and received an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Community Based Instruction. Works at a Veterinarians’ office and has performed in four theatrical plays.

Marlicia  Roscoe, 15 years old – Alatoona High School, Marietta, GA – Very active in my school, church and community.

Gregory Smith, Jr., 15 years old – Elite Scholars  High School, Rex, GA – Member of the Model United Nations Club, Band, and JV Basketball Team; member of youth choir at New Hope Baptist Church of Atlanta. Plans to attend Harvard University of Law and major in Pre-Law.

Nydia Stanley, 15 years old – Carver School of the Arts, Atlanta, GA – Member of the Carver Marching Band, National Beta Club Society, ballet department. Plans to attend a university and major in biology on a pre-med track.

Alexis Warren, 16 years old – Mount Zion High School, Rex, GA – Sophomore Class President, member of the cross-country, swim, track and field teams. Aspires to become a news broadcaster.

Andre White, 16 years old – B.E.S.T. Academy High School, Atlanta, GA – Member of the basketball team and Future Business Leaders of Atlanta and Youth Entrepreneurs of Atlanta. Plans to pursue a degree in Graphic Design, Game Design, or Videography

Jahda Williams, 17 years old – Miller Grove High School, Lithonia, GA — Enrolled in the Culinary Arts program and performs on the Hip Hop Dance Team. Plans to attend an HBCU majoring in Culinary Arts.

T’Yanna Williams, 16 years old – Jonesboro High School, Jonesboro, GA — Honor roll student and member of the Finesse Models, Music Club and Flag Team. Greeter at R. H. Ministries plans to attend Savannah State University majoring in Law and Justice.

Brian Willis, II, 17 years old – Jonesboro High School, Lawrenceville, GA –Active participation in sports, musical and theatrical clubs, and youth entrepreneurs mentoring programs.

Tyra Winn, 16 years old – Fulton Science Academy, Lawrenceville, GA — Plans to attend Florida Southern to study nursing.

In this powerful four-day program, the Dreamers engage in a wide range of experiences while working hand and hand with community and industry leaders, dedicated Disney Cast Members and some of today’s top celebrities. From slicing and dicing with a master chef to bringing illustrations to life with a real Disney animator, our young Dreamers not only learn how to motivate themselves, but also how to inspire their friends, families and communities.
