Atlanta-based R&B singer-songwriter Musiq Soulchild is stepping away from the limelight. The Philadelphia native isn’t leaving music altogether, but he’s going behind the scenes to write and produce songs for other artists.
“I’m not going to stop performing or being an artist. I do enjoy singing and all of that, but it takes away from being creative,” Musiq said. “At least with being a writer-producer you can constantly create and make music and things like that.”
Musiq is getting song placements with artists like Chrisette Michele and Bow Wow while gearing up to release his first book. The book is said to be about love, relationships, and music and should be available by the summer of 2012.
