The one-and-only Jill Scott stopped by Majic 107.5 / 97.5 recently to promote her new album “The Light Of The Sun.”

“It’s meant to be warm. It’s meant to be refreshing,” the Grammy-winning singer said to Carol Blackmon. “A lot of the stuff that we did was just freedom. No plan of action….just music and a microphone. I enjoyed it.”

Jill said two of her favorite tracks on the album are “All Cried Out” with Doug E. Fresh and “So Gone” featuring rapper Paul Wall, although Jill joked that we have to get the clean version if we want to play it on the radio!

“Shout out to all the strippers in Atlanta,” Jill said of the sensuous track. “I’m hoping that they will enjoy this song and represent it in a way that it should be. The song is meant to coerce, entice and beguile. If you’re not sure what those things are, taking a chance, look it up and put that in your repertoire.”

Jill also talked about the hardships she faced growing up in north Philly and how far she has come, including having her own postage stamp in Africa!
