The Atlanta Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is pleased to announce SiMan, evening host on Majic 107.5 FM, and Tom Jones, reporter for WSB-TV, Channel 2 Action News, as co-hosts for the 2010 Jondelle Johnson Freedom Fund Dinner. The event will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, 6:00 p.m. VIP Reception, 7:00 p.m. Dinner. Roslyn M. Brock, Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors is the keynote speaker.

WHO: SiMan, evening host on Majic 107.5 FM and Tom Jones, reporter for WSB-TV, Channel 2 Action News will co-host the awards dinner and fundraiser. Roslyn M. Brock, Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors is the keynote speaker. Brock made history in February 2010 when she was unanimously elected the 14^th Chairman of the NAACP’s National Board as the youngest person and fourth woman to hold this position.

Brock’s election solidified a generational shift in national leadership. In that same vein, the Atlanta Branch will honor three people who represent the next generation of leadership, and who are working to serve our youth as well.

The Jondelle Johnson Legacy Award will be presented to two recipients: actor Monique Coleman and magazine publisher and public relations professional Arian Simone Reed. Monique Coleman is most recognized as Taylor McKessie from the “High School Musical” Disney movie franchise. She was the last woman standing, placing fourth on Season 3 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Coleman is the host and executive producer of “GimmeMo’” online. Arian Simone Reed is President and CEO of Arian Simone Enterprises, which publishes “Fearless Magazine,” a new publication for trendsetting women who have an endless love for urban culture. Reed created the Live Your Dreams Foundation to empower youth to achieve their personal goals.

WHAT: The Freedom Fund Dinner is a signature fundraiser event for the Atlanta Branch of the NAACP. Proceeds help the Branch accomplish the national mission locally. This year marks the 30^th year for the event, and the 12^th year for the Jondelle Johnson Legacy Award. In 1998, the Atlanta Branch created the Jondelle Johnson Legacy Award in honor of the longtime Executive Director who led the organization through four decades of struggle and hard-won success. The Award recognizes those who are the epitome of dedication, perseverance, and service.
