Life has been anything but funny for comedian Katt Williams.

Between tax problems and arrest warrants for punching people, Katt is in danger of becoming the DMX of comedy. In the latest brush with the law Katt and a female companion were questioned by police in Ohio over an alleged shoplifting incident at a local Best Buy.

According to TMZ Katt was NOT arrested, but a member of his entourage was charged with a misdemeanor.

According to the AJC, the owner of an Atlanta recording studio is suing comedian Katt Williams for $1 million, saying the comic threatened him with his dog in order to avoid paying a debt.

Merion Joseph Powers’ lawsuit, filed in Fulton Superior Court, is the latest in a series of legal woes for Micah “Katt” Williams.

In the civil complaint filed Wednesday, Powers is asking for damages for assault, battery, false imprisonment, damage to property and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He also wants to be paid for the time Williams spent in his recording studio, which Powers said totals $28,600.

The suit cites two alleged incidents as the basis for Powers’ claim — one at Powers’ recording studio last October and another a month later at a Midtown Atlanta hotel.

According to the court filing, Williams and his bodyguards came to Powers’ studio early one morning last October for a scheduled appointment. Williams allegedly brought his dog, which was not described in the complaint.

While Williams was working inside, his dog was allowed to roam freely outside where Powers said his son also was walking their pet. “Williams walked outside and gave his dog a verbal attack signal, at which point Williams’ dog ran to and attacked Powers’ dog. Powers and his son had to pry Williams’ dog’s teeth off of Powers’ dog,” the complaint said.

Powers’ dog allegedly suffered “substantial and nearly life-threatening” injuries.

Powers said the next month Williams invited him to the Four Seasons luxury hotel to discuss the debt and the dog attack.

Powers said he arrived and was directed to a chair in the middle of a room and surrounded by Williams’ bodyguards.

“Williams entered the room and immediately began insulting Powers, calling him a ‘punk’ and hurling expletives at him,” according to the complaint obtained by the AJC Friday. “Williams said he learned that Powers might press criminal charges against him for the dog attack and stated that he would kill him if he did file such charges. … Williams’ attack dog was snarling directly in front of Powers, apparently waiting for the attack signal.”

Powers said he asked to leave but Williams would not allow it.

“Williams explained that Powers must be living in a cave if he did not know what was about to happen and asked if he knew of anyone coming back from the dead,” according to the complaint.

About that time, hotel security knocked on the door and a few moments later Atlanta police officers arrived.

Williams told the media at the time that he was kicked out of the Four Seasons, an incident that is also cited in Powers’ complaint. Williams complained to reporters that the city and the hotel were ungrateful for all he had done for the city. He also said he had recently bought a penthouse at the hotel and had also just rented seven rooms for a week.

“I haven’t been here 72 hours and I’m being kicked out of the Four Seasons even though I paid up front and in cash. I don’t understand,” Williams told a television reporter. “I’m standing out here with millions of dollars in movies and TV specials sold and most of them done right here in Atlanta. And to be ceremoniously dismissed at a hotel is sad.”

Just days after his release from the Coweta County Jail, comedian Katt Williams says he has been kicked out the posh Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown.

Williams, who was arrested Sunday night for allegedly breaking into a house in Coweta County, said at a Thursday night press conference that he was asked to leave the upscale hotel on 14th Street after employees claimed he was causing a disturbance.

The comedian told 11Alive that he recently bought a penthouse at the Four Seasons and had rented seven rooms for seven nights.

“I haven’t been here 72 hours and I’m being kicked out of the Four Seasons even though I paid up front and in cash. I don’t understand,” Williams to the TV station.

“I’m at the point now where I’m standing out here with millions of dollars in movies and TV specials sold and most of them done right here in Atlanta,” he said. “And to be ceremoniously dismissed at a hotel is sad.”

A spokesperson for the hotel told the station he was not aware of the incident and had no record of Williams staying at the hotel.

Comedian Katt Williams, fresh from an overnight stay in the Coweta County Jail, will not be charged in an unrelated incident involving a 17-year-old boy, a sheriff’s deputy confirmed Tuesday.

The youth called 911 last Tuesday night, claiming Williams was holding him against his will at the Newnan estate where Williams is staying while in town filming a movie. The 38-year-old actor and television personality was arrested there Sunday night after the estate’s caretaker, Daniel Broach, claimed Williams broke into his home and stole nearly $4,000 worth of jewelry and collectible coins.

The teen’s allegations weren’t nearly as specific. Coweta Sheriff’s Office Maj. Mike Kinsey said the deputy who responded to last Tuesday’s 911 call wasn’t able to substantiate any of the boy’s claims.

“It seems there was nothing going on,” Kinsey said.

The unidentified 17-year-old told the 911 operator “[Williams] threatened to beat me up” if he attempted to leave the Smokey Road mansion. The boy said he had a flight to catch at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

“I had a ride, and he wouldn’t let our ride take us there,” the teen told authorities. “We’re here with him and he’s not letting us leave.”

The youth asked the operator to send a deputy to the property owned by record producer Barry Hankerson, a friend of the comedian.

“I don’t want to deal with it, I just want to get away from him,” the teen told a sheriff’s deputy. When asked if Williams had any weapons, the youth said, “I think so … I don’t really know.”

“We didn’t find any firearms and there was no sign anyone was being held against their will,” Kinsey said.

Williams still faces a felony burglary charge, which the comedian attributed to “a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives.” The Dayton, Ohio native was released from jail Monday on $41,150 bond.

Comedian Katt Williams kept it light at his bond hearing Monday, telling the judge he could have his $200,000 Bentley if it would get him out of jail quicker.

Coweta County Magistrate Judge Joseph Wyatt settled for a $41,150 bail for the actor and TV personality, charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespassing.

Williams was arrested Sunday night after an employee at the Coweta estate where the comedian is staying called 911 to report a break-in at a  guesthouse located on the property. The caller said the 36-year-old part-time Atlantan stole jewelery and other personal items, though Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager said authorities have not located the missing merchandise.

“This was a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives,” said Williams as he emerged from the Coweta jail Monday night. He was mobbed by about 50 excited fans before departing in a van filled with friends and associates.

In court Judge Wyatt agreed this was no “typical” burglary. Williams said he was staying at producer Barry Hankerson’s Coweta estate, located in the 3400 block of Smokey Road, while in town filming a movie about President Barack Obama.

“I was in the middle of a birthday party” when arrested, Williams told the judge. “I’m one of the most honorable people in my profession,” said the father of eight children, seven of whom were adopted.

This wouldn’t be the first time police were dispatched to the Coweta estate. An unidentified 17-year-old called 911 on Nov. 3, claiming Williams was holding him against his will.

“He threatened to beat me up,” said the caller, who told a sheriff’s deputy he was trying to catch a plane to New York City. No charges were filed but the incident remains under investigation.

Williams’ credits include the comedy “First Sunday” and the Eddie Murphy film, “Norbit.”  He also headlined an HBO special, “Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1,” shot in Atlanta.
