    Michael,
Having visited Haiti on a missions trip I think what has happened with the earthquake under score what the people live through everyday. The poor in Haiti unlike the poor in America do not have running water or lights in fact many do not have homes they live in self built shanty’s that offer very little from the elements. At night the poeple make lanterns from plastic milk jugs. I saw people washing cars, clothes and bathing in the same stream of water. To go into the hill country is like going back 150 years. In spite of the proverty what I saw in the Haitian people was a strong sense of pride.
