Lorenzen Wright Hawks

More than a half a dozen police cars surrounded the Memphis home of Lorenzen Wright’s ex-wife’s, Sherra Wright, now a suspect in his murder. On Sunday, August 1, 2010, detectives searched inside and out for clues into the murder of Wright’s ex-husband, a former Atlanta Hawk, Memphis Tiger and Memphis Grizzlies.

Wright split his time between Atlanta and Memphis.

The bullet-riddled body of the NBA free agent was found in a field in Southeast Memphis on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. His mother reported Wright missing on July 22nd, saying she suspected foul play. Sherra Wright was the last person to see him alive, telling the authorites she saw him leave her house in Collierville on July 18th.

In another twist to the story, Wright’s attorney says Sherra Wright was threatened at her home by three men who were carrying guns and looking for the former NBA player about six weeks before he was murdered.

I must start out saying bless Lorenzen’s sweet soul, and Mr. Wright will be terribly missed in the Memphis community. I never heard anyone say one bad thing about this guy, but there are a few rumors about his infedelity in his union with his wife. He was a great sportsman, great son, great friend, great father, & I’m sure he was a great husband at some point in his life with Sherra, only she can tell the life story that we all want to know.He will be missed by many, leaving a true legacy of strong leadership & definitely a role model for the world to take the time to recognize for years to come, in America’s History. He did make his mark. My heart goes out to his family and all those who loved him. Alexis as well. You were a blessed woman. I’m sure you will get your 15 minutes. As for his Ex-Wife Sherra let us not judge her. She loved him more, and as much as a wife could. She is innocent until proven guilty. He has far more children than most NBA players in the union between the two. I want to hear her story about her life with the man, as her husband Lorenzen Wright. It is a tragedy and a shame that he died the way he did so close to his own home. Only God know the truth to this mystery. God Bless all of those beautiful children that Sherra & Lorenzen made together during all those many years being married, the true losers of greatness. Lord Have mercy.
