Bobby Brown has dismissed reports he is unwelcome at Whitney Houston’s funeral. As we previously reported, Whitney’s private funeral will take place this Saturday at her childhood church in Newark, New Jersey.

ABC News reported that some people in Houston’s family didn’t want Brown to attend the service at New Hope Baptist Church, but they can’t stop him because of his link to his daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina.

Bobby Brown has also released a statement saying Bobbi Kristina is doing much better after being hospitalized following her mother’s death.

“My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better,” Bobby said in a written statement. “We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected.”

Bobby and Whitney were married for 15 years and divorced in 2007.
