Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Lil Scrappy wants to get off probation, but he must wait until next week to find out if his request will be granted.

Scrappy, 29 (born Darryl Richardson), was ordered Wednesday (May 15) to provide a urine sample to screen for illegal drugs. As we previously reported, prosecutors claim that the ATL rapper switched his urine sample during a routine drug screening.

Scrappy is required to undergo drug testing as a condition of his probation. He is on probation for a 2008 first-offender plea to felony marijuana and gun possession charges. A DeKalb County judge scheduled the probation revocation hearing for May 22 at 8:30 am to allow time for the urine sample can be processed.

The nominees for the 2013 BET Awards have been announced and Drake is leading the pack with a whopping 12 nominations. Kendrick Lamar and Atlanta’s own 2 Chainz follow with 8 nominations each.

Drake received three nominations for Video of the Year for “Started from the Bottom,” “No Lie” and “Problems.” Also nominated in the category are Justin Timberlake for “Suit & Tie,” Kanye West for “Mercy,” Miguel’s “Adorn,” and “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Atlanta R&B vet Usher was also nominated for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

Chris Tucker will host the awards, which air live June 30 from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

R&B singer Lyfe Jennings is back with a new single “Boomerang,” a song about karma that features a soft piano melody. It’s produced by G2G and LaShaunda ‘Baby Girl’ Carr. Lyfe recently signed a deal with Mass Appeal Entertainment and will be releasing a new album this fall.

K. Michelle stopped by our sister station Hot 107.9 recently and dropped a bombshell on Emperor Searcy, Mz Shyneka and Mister Smith. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star revealed that she’s moving to New York City and may be joining the Love & Hip Hop New York cast.

“I’ve conquered a lot here,” she explained. “I have a huge business venture that people will be like, ‘how did she pull that off?’ You’ll hear about it. It’s time to go from Atlanta. It’s been good to me.”

K. Michelle also talked about her Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast mates, her new record deal and single, “I Just Wanna,” motherhood and graduating from Florida A&M University, where she was Miss FAMU.

The girls shared a laugh while watching a clip of Ciara’s adlib a capella version of her new single, “Body Party,” which she sung in a bathroom on a recent trip to Paris.

One half of OutKast, ATL’s own Big Boi, is trekking back and forth across the country promoting his upcoming album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. This is Big Boi’s second solo album following his critically-acclaimed Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty.

Always thinking outside the box, Big Boi goes outside of his musical genre to work with artists like Little Dragon and Theophilus London. Big Boi doesn’t abandon the rap realm entirely as he also has songs with A$AP Rocky, T.I., and Killer Mike.

Kelly Rowland also turns up on “Mama Told Me.” Check out the video below.

When asked about the album, Big Boi wouldn’t give too many details. He did drive one point home. This album is full of great songs. “Action Packed from top to bottom. All Killer NO Filler!”
