Majic 107.5 / 97.5’s DJ Nabs will be taking part in this year’s Peachtree Village International Film Festival!

There will be lots of film screenings, including a showing of Nabs’ documentary, Diary of A Mad DJ. The festival takes place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, International Tower in downtown Atlanta.

Nabs’ film will screen on Friday, August 20 from 2:30–4:00 pm.

Each generation of black America gives birth to its own incarnation of the charismatic preacher-activist who confronts the white power structure in the streets and talks circles around it on Meet the Press.

Sharpton burst onto the national stage as the fiery advocate for Tawana Brawley, a New York teenager who claimed to have been raped by a gang of white men, including a policeman.

In that incarnation he still haunts the popular imagination: a bulky, bullhorn-toting figure in a neon-hued tracksuit, topped by a preposterously high, wavy pompadour. About all that remains today is a bare suggestion of the pompadour and roughly two thirds of the 300-pound 1980s-vintage Sharpton himself, now typically clad in an impeccable custom-tailored suit.

His erstwhile ally, rival, and adversary, former New York City mayor David Dinkins, maintains that of course Sharpton has “grown up and matured, as most people do if they live long enough.”

Christina Millian wants a judge to throw out the divorce papers that her “husband” The-Dream filed nine days before the birth of their daughter, Violet.

She claims that he lied about the status of their relationship and that he cheated on her!

In her legal response, filed last week in Georgia, Milian claims the marriage wasn’t really kaput when he filed the divorce docs — and subsequently had “marital relations on numerous occasions.”

But Milian also claims that if the court does grant the divorce — it shouldn’t be based on The-Dream’s claim that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” — but rather because the The-Dream was cheating on her.

In the docs, Milian admits that she signed a settlement agreement with The-Dream in which both parties waved any alimony or ownership right’s to the other person’s property.

But Milian claims she only signed the docs because The-Dream brought them to her bedside when she was 9-months pregnant … when she was in no condition to sign such important papers.

Paula Patton got a lot of attention after her performance in ‘Precious’.

Now, the actress will play a role in ‘Law & Order: SVU’. NBC says that Patton will star as assistant district attorney Mikka Von in several episodes.

Executive Producer of “SVU” Neal Baer says:

“When I saw Paula Patton give that terrific performance in the multi-Oscar-nominated ‘Precious,’ I knew she’d be perfect for SVU’s new assistant district attorney — she’s funny, warm and witty with a penchant for justice”

R&B singer Ne-Yo may be involved in a real mess!! We’re hearing that there is a growing scandal in France – one of their most popular soccer players, Franck Ribiery, allegedly slept with a 16 year old prostitute named Zahia.

How is Ne-Yo involved in this scandal, you ask? One of France’s most legit newspapers is claiming that the Atlanta-based singer/songwriter may have done the same. The paper is quoted as saying:

It appears right now that the American rapper Ne-Yo . . . spent one night with Zahia, a few weeks before she becomes major [i.e. not a minor].

Ribery was officially charged this week with soliciting and faces up to three years in prison.

Alicia Keys announced that she has decided to part ways with her long-time manager Jeff Robinson of MBK Entertainment.

According to the press release, the split was “mutually agreed upon” and Alicia Keys will now “oversee all aspects of her personal career.” Alicia and Jeff have been business partners since she was 15.

According to a source, Alicia’s split with her manager had partially to do with her relationship with Stone Mountain High alum Swizz Beatz. The source tells NecoleBitchie.com:

Over the past few weeks, it’s been pretty tense in house. Swizz Beatz has been there and has been taking a pretty active role of being a manager. He has been pitching her to people and he’s becoming very vocal in the direction of her career.”

According to another source, Alicia Keys also axed her entire glam squad. “Swizz Beatz is trying to remove anyone from the team that appears to be a threat because of his own insecurities” says the source.

Atlanta singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is being sued.

The lawsuit against him states that Kenyohn Clark of Maryland-based Wet Entertainment and booking agent Mike Esterman reached an agreement to pay Ne-Yo a total of $140,000 for the gig at Bellevue’s Meydenbauer Center. The singer was allegedly paid $95,000 up front for the appearance, but, according to the lawsuit, he never showed up. SOURCE

Also, Jennifer Lopez is being threatened with a $40-million lawsuit by the owners of a north Cyprus luxury hotel where she recently backed out of a July 24 performance. Greek Cypriots said that had she performed, it would further polarize the country, which has been divided since the 1970s and whose northern region is recognized only by Turkey.
