Bill Cosby

The landscape of television programming today is nothing like it was when the ”Cosby Show” ended in 1992, but that’s not stopping Bill Cosby from re-entering the television world.

There are talks of a new comedy show being developed between Cosby and NBC to launch in the summer or fall of 2015, according to Deadline.

“Bill plays the patriarch of the family, dispensing his classic wisdom on relationships and parenthood, with three daughters, husbands and grandchildren,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke.

The show is being produced by Sony TV and has been in the works since January. It’s being created by “Glee” actor  Mike O’Malley and Mike Sikowitz. O’Malley may also be pulling double-duty by possibly playing Cosby’s son-in-law.

Often referenced as America’s Dad, Cosby career is not without  its controversies. Between 2004-2005, he was accused of sexually assaulting 13 women. The case was settled and recently, Barbara Bowman, one of the woman in the case, shared details of her encounter in Newsweek.

Cosby tries to stay out of the spotlight. However, this new show will place him back in the spotlight; for better or worse.

Will the show succeed in a predominant reality-TV era? Will it also make or break his legacy? Stay tuned!
