To honor the 20th anniversary of the classic Nas album “Illmatic”, the Time Is Illmatic documentary will be debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City in April.

Nas will also release a remastered re-release of Illmatic XX (dropping April 15, 2014). There will  be a U.S. tour that coincides with the album’s release and Nas will  perform the album in full. And if that isn’t enough there will be a semi-biographical comedy series with Xbox called Street Dreams.

Says Nas of the scheduled events,

“I want to thank the Tribeca Film Festival for supporting the film with the incredible platform they’ve built over the years. It’s an honor to premiere this film in my hometown. I also want to thank One9 and Erik Parker for their persistence and hard work. Those guys and I come from the same place and era, which gives the doc an authenticity that is important to me. We wanted this film to represent the real, from the story line all the way down to the directors and producers.”
