Just call it bloody monday. With the 2013 NFL regular season in the books, team owners made assessments of their situations and several coaches were given pink slips today.

So far, coaches for the Washington Football Team, Vikings, Lions, Browns and Buccaneers have been given walking papers after their teams either failed to make the playoffs or finished with losing records.

From ESPN:

The Minnesota Vikings fired coach Leslie Frazier on Monday morning, one year after they made the playoffs and one day after they finished a 5-10-1 season…After going 10-6 in 2012, the Vikings regressed this year, done in by a leaky defense and an inability to find stability at quarterback…Frazier finished 21-33-1 in three-plus seasons.

The Washington Washington Football Team fired coach Mike Shanahan on Monday morning after one of the team’s ugliest seasons in recent memory — and with too many losses in his four-year tenure…The Washington Football Team were 24-40 under Shanahan, the worst record of any NFC East team during that span. The Washington Football Team (3-13) finished with an eight-game losing streak, their longest since 1960.

Greg Schiano has been fired as coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Mark Dominik is out as general manager, one day after the team completed its third straight losing season…Schiano went 11-21 in two seasons…The Bucs have not made the playoffs since 2007.

Jim Schwartz did not win enough games in his five years as coach of the Detroit Lions — particularly in the past two seasons — to warrant keeping him for a sixth season. The Lions finished 7-9 and missed. the playoffs.

The Cleveland Browns released their coach Rob Chudzinski after just one year. The Browns finished with a 4 and 12 record, one less win than they had last year.

Chudzinski released the following statement.

“I was shocked and disappointed to hear the news that I was fired. I am a Cleveland Brown to the core, and always will be. It was an honor to lead our players and coaches, and I appreciate their dedication and sacrifice. I was more excited than ever for this team, as I know we were building a great foundation for future success. While clearly I would have liked to see the long-term vision through to the end, I am very grateful to Jimmy Haslam and the Haslam family for letting me live my dream.”
