How far would you go to protect your child? Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal’s new film “Prisoners” begs the question. Jackman’s character, Keller Dover’s six-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. With his little girl’s life in the hands of detective Loki (Gyllenhaal), Jackman will stop at nothing to find them, even if that means taking matters into his own hands and committing a crime himself.

Check out three reasons you should head to the theater this weekend to see the action-packed film!

The Stellar Cast

Joining Jackman and Gyllenhaal is a stellar cast that includes Oscar winner Melissa Leo, Paul Dano, Maria Bello, and Oscar nominees Viola Davis and Terrence Howard. Jackman is compelling as Keller Dover as well as his cast mates in their respected roles.

Hugh Jackman Has Something To prove

Jackman’s last film, “Wolverine” was an upset to Marvel fans. Though it was successful at the box office, critics slammed it, calling it boring and disjointed. That should be just fuel he needs to deliver a stunning performance in “Prisoners.” Jackman’s role is an emotionally demanding one and if he rises to the occasion, he may snag an Oscar nom for his portrayal.

The Plot

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. Which makes “Prisoners” such a jarring experience to watch. You will become invested in Drover’s plight, keeping you locked into the thriller until the very end.
