Tyler Perry premiered his new movie Temptation: Confessions of A Marriage Counselor over the weekend in Atlanta at AMC Parkway Pointe and we were on the red carpet. Also, Majic’s KB reviewed the film for KB On The Scene!

Tyler Perry comes back strong this year with his latest movie venture Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor starring Journee Smolett-Bell, Lance Gross, Robbie Jones, Kim Kardashian, Brandy Norwood and Vanessa Williams.
It starts off kind of slow and the cast seems very disconnected – translation: pay attention from the very beginning. The interaction between Journee (Judith) and Lance Gross (Brice) is sweet and believable – we all know someone (or maybe us) that has this type of relationship: without giving anything away – small town vs. the big city – you know what I’m saying. The story turns interesting when singer Brandy (Melinda) suddenly appears. The random-ness is weird and you will feel like “What the hell?”
When Robbie Jones (Harley) enters the movie, you’re thinking, ok – a smart brotha with some dough, ok…Vanessa Williams (Janice) plays a “French” Madame, er, Million Dollar Matchmaker which ties Robbie Jones and Journee Smolett-Bell together. But why is HE (Robbie) here and WHY is she (Journee) in this office? will be the first questions you will ask. Ava (Kim Kardashian) was cast just as she probably is in real life: a materialistic, label-reading, self-absorbed… (you fill in the rest)!
The twist and turns in the movie (which come after a good 45-minutes in) are very realistic and those that we see way too often today. The title of the movie Temptation: Confessions Of A Marriage Counselor should have stopped after the word Temptation – not really relevant that she’s a marriage counselor – especially after she starts complaining about where she works (with Vanessa Williams).
All in all – it’s entertaining to watch on a matinee Saturday or Sunday. I wouldn’t have a big meal and go sit in there; however, it’s worth a watch.
