Family and friends of 25-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player, Jovan Belcher, are left with many questions this morning. Police spokesman Darin Snapp confirmed that the linebacker fatally shot his 22-year-old girlfriend, Kasandra M. Perkins, on Saturday December 1st. Javon then drove to Arrowhead Stadium to thank his coach and general manager for everything that they had done for him. Then committed suicide in front of them.
MUST READ: Why ‘Suicide’ Can No Longer Be A Dirty Word
Police have not released any motives for the murder-suicide but say that Belcher and his girlfriend had been arguing recently. Kasandra and Jovan just welcomed a 3-month-old child. Jovan’s mother had just moved in with the couple to help with their newborn. His mother reported to the police around 8 a.m. that Kasandra had been shot multiple times. She was transported to a hospital and died a short time later.
Many of the Jovan’s former teammates took to Twitter to express their sorrow and asked for prayer and support:
This just doesn’t seem real…praying for 59 and his family

UPDATE: According to the Kansas City Star, the couple “argued in the early morning hours after the woman was out late attending Friday’s Trey Songz concert.”
We never know what deep emotionally baggage is buried within our loved ones. Our prayers go out to the family and friends of both Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins.
