First lady Michelle Obama was a guest last night on CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” where she discussed her husband, President Barack Obama, her undercover visit to Target and more.

The first lady also talked about how she learned from her parents the act of unconditional love, and said that the most important thing for children to know is that their parents adore them.

She almost became emotional talking about her late father.

“Don’t make me cry,” she said. “This isn’t ‘Oprah.’ It’s supposed to be ‘Letterman.'”

The “Late Show with David Letterman” airs weeknights at 11:35 Eastern time.
