5K Run/Walk – 1 Mile Walk
Form a team, volunteer or support a “dasher”!
Join SiMan Baby and the Diabetes Association of  Atlanta  for music, food, free screenings and an entire morning of festivities. The race starts Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in Hurt Park (across from Georgia State University) and travels past the Capitol and through Historic Oakland Cemetery.
Early registration is $20.00 and group registration of 3 or more is $15.00

Course| The race starts at Hurt Park and travels past the Capitol and through Historic Oakland Cemetery.  It is a 5K Run and a 1 Mile Walk.

Directions | From I-75/85 South, exit at Courtland Street and take a right onto Edgewood Avenue.  Hurt Park is on the left.  From I-75/85 North, exit and turn left on International Boulevard, go left on Courtland to Hurt Park.  Free Parking is available in the parking deck off Auburn Avenue (parallel to Edgewood Avenue).  Mapquest: 100 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30303.

Volunteers | Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering.  Volunteers are needed for water stations, on-site registration and food station.  All volunteers will receive a great t-shirt!  Email kwhite@diabetesatlanta.org.

Shirts & Medals | Awards will be given to the Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female and the top three finishers for each male and female in five year age increments from ages 10 and under to 70 and over. All participants will receive a 16th Annual Downtown Dash for Diabetes T-Shirt.

Who Benefits| 100% of all proceeds support the mission of Diabetes Association of Atlanta to provide diabetes medication, medical supplies and education to the uninsured and underserved persons living in Metro Atlanta.

Collecting Pledges/Donations | Collect donations and bring them on Race Day along with the sponsor sheet attached.  The individual who collects the most pledges will receive a Top Prize! (To be eligible for the prize drawing, a dasher must raise $500.00). Contributions to the DAA are fully tax deductible as provided by law.  No goods or services will be exchanged for contributions from pledges.
